Happy New Year.

今年は、今まで以上に上手くいきそうで、楽しみです。

I think this year will go even better than before now. I am really looking forward to it!
 

12/31の年越しは、かなり久しぶりに家にいた。

On new years eve, the 31st of December, I was at home for the first time in a long time.

いつもは消防の夜警で、最終日だけ早く帰れるという理由で、いつも31日を選んでいたが、働き方改革なのか、他の日も0時で帰れるようになり、今年は違う日を選んだ。ただいつも通り忙しく年末を過ごし体調はあまりよくない・・・。

Perhaps it was due to reforming my working style so that I can go home by 0:00 on most other days, that I decided to do a different day this year. However, as usual at new years I have been so busy, so my physical condition isn’t so great.
 

1/1は家族と、増築中のりんくうへ買い物。充実。

I spent the 1st of January with my family doing shopping at the rinku building. It was a rewarding time.
 

1/2は、白川の僕方の実家へ。 その後、4日5日と卓球の合宿で居なくなる長男の事を考えると、家族の時間を楽しもうという事で、急遽夜からお出かけ。

On the 2nd of January  we went to visit my parents place in Shirakawa.
After that I realized we wouldn’t have a lot of family time left as my eldest son would be away on the 4th and 5th due to a table tennis intensive camp. For that reason we hastily decided to go out in the evening.
 

いつも通り、何も決めずに。どこに行こ？初詣にまだ行ってない・・

As usual, without making any plans, we jumped in the car…”We haven’t visited a shrine to celebrate the new year yet!”

いつもなら僕は消防終わりに家族も家から地元神社へ初詣に行くのだが、消防もないし、体調もよくなかったので、初詣に行ってない。

On a normal new years we would go to our local shrine after I had finished my night watchman work at the fire station, but I didn’t have to do that this year, and on top of that I was not feeling too good. So, we haven’t been to the shrine yet.
 

どこの神社に行くか？？？ 伊弉諾神宮も感じのいい所なのでいいけど・・・。

Which shrine shall we go to? Izanagi Shrine has a great feel to it.

「厳島神社に行ったことないから、行ってみようか。」と広島方面に向かう事に。

“We have never been to Itsukushima Shrine, so why don’t we go there?”..and so we pointed our car in the direction of Hiroshima.
 

どこの家もでしょうが、お正月の実家でのお昼は長引きおやつもしっかり食べるので、晩御飯がいるか要らないか分からんようになる・・・。

Probably most families are the same, but lunch time seems to stretch out over new years day, and there are plenty of snacks shared around. By the time the evening meal rolls around we’re not sure if we’re ready to eat or not…

そのパターンで遅い時間21：00頃、胃の貯蓄量の少ない子供からお腹空いてきたとの訴えをうけ、姫路SAの丸亀製麺へ。

Following that pattern, late in the evening at about 21:00, my children who only have small capacity stomachs, started telling me how hungry they are. So we made our way to the Marugame Noodle shop at Himeji's Service Area..
 

お腹も満たされ、山陽道に乗って西へ、西へ。

When our tummies were full again, we got back on the Sanyo Highway and continued West, and more West.

あっ！ 気づいた・・・・風呂に入ってない・・・・。

Then we suddenly thought!! We haven’t had a bath yet!

1/2の22時過ぎ、山陽道、赤穂あたり・・・。

Later than 22:00 on the 2nd of January on the Sanyo Highway, somewhere near Ako…

空いてる風呂って？？ ある？？

Is there a public hot spring bath house open somewhere near here?
 

グーグルで検索したら、あった！

So we searched on Mr. Google, and there was.

ICからも近い所で、最悪そのまま休憩仮眠もできる所を見つけ、そこに向かった。

So, just in case we found a place near the highway interchange where we could take a quick sleep if we had to, and made our way to the bath house.

行く途中、反対側車線からの車が増えだした・・・。

On the way there, the cars in the opposite lane coming towards us gradually increased…
 

お風呂の情報だけを調べ、行った先は稲荷健康センター。
隣接するのは、岡山最上稲荷。

We had only searched the information of bath houses, but the name of the place that we were heading to was the Inari Health Centre, which is situated right next to Okayama’s greatest ‘Saijyo Inari Shrine.’

そのまま、何も分からずですが、雰囲気にのまれお風呂入った後、夜中に初詣をする事になりました。

Going with the flow, without thinking too hard about things, having become one with the surrounding atmosphere, after we had our baths, we paid our customary first shrine visit of the year in the middle of the night.

「自分に起こるすべての事には意味がある」これ、僕が言うてる僕なりの名言。

Even if I say it about myself, one of my personal best quotes is, “Everything that happens to me has its own meaning.”

ここ最近この言葉の面白さをよく感じるようになってきました。

These days, I have become aware of how this phrase is such an interesting one

「目標を持って果敢に挑む！」って事も大事ですが、
「無理に抗わず自然の摂理に合った流れによりそう」って事も大事だと思ってきてました。

It is important to, “have a goal and boldly challenge yourself to achieve it,” but,
I also think it is important, “not to vainly resist natures providence, and to rather go with its flow.”

今回の最上稲荷に辿り着いたのも、きっとそうなんだろうなと思ってます。

I think that this time, the way that we arrived at the Saijyo Inari Shrine, is surely a clear example of that.
 

コンビニに行った時に、堀江さんの本に辿り着いたのも、偶然であり、必然。

In the same way, it was a coincidence, just as much as it was inevitable, that I arrived in front of Mr. Horie’s book when I went to the convenience store recently.

「うんうん！」と頷き、ニヤニヤしながら読んでます。

While nodding and smiling, I read the book, often saying “Yes, yes!” to myself.

今年も楽しんでいけそうです。

I feel I’ll be able to enjoy this year.

簡単な予定として、

As a simple outline of my plans.
 

・1月中旬には 「喜らっくす。」に脱毛器導入

・In the middle of January, our “KILAX” shop will get its hair removal machine.

・2月には、ものづくり補助金を利用して、「神戸良質堆肥」の袋詰めを機械化

・In February we’ll make use of the subsidy for manufacturers and mechanize the process of bagging “Kobe’s High Quality Compost.”

・造園土木事業部事務所を設置

・We will make a separate office for the Landscape Gardening Department of our company.

・小さいながら社長室を設置・

・Even though it is small, we’ll make a separate president’s office.

・動画を大量生産して配信予定

・We plan to produce and upload a high volume of videos

・新たに3人雇用予定

・We plan to take on 3 new staff members

・喜らっくすで新商品販売予定

・We plan to put a new product on sale through KILAX.

他にも色々やりたい事だらけ・・・。

And there are so many other things that we want to do.

This year too, we intend to do our best, so everyone, please lend us your helping hands.
